just wondering if the freeipod craze ever hit the soup? Pretty much every other bb on the net was swamped with referals and links for people trying to get their's. Anyone here try it? Anyone else get one?

A couple of people posted, and the threads were promptly locked down, as we don't allow referral links to be posted. The impact on AS was certainly kept to a minimum, and we like it that way.
With regard to the "craze", I have yet to hear of anyone actually successfully receiving one as a result of the referral process. It seemed like a scam when it first hit, and it still seems like one.
As they say, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

there were plenty of articles on cnn and wired about the legitimacy of the website.
google freeipods and you'll see the craze I'm talking about. plenty of bb devoted to talking about people getting them

if you sign up and fulfill one internet deal (like online blockbuster or something) AND get at least eight friends to do the same, it's worth their while and they'll send you an ipod

i walked through a similar thing for a 17" flat screen monitor, and it was eight friends. more expensive i guess.

ya, i know people that did the free flat screens and got em. 9 people seems a big ridiculous to me. Theres also freehandbags.com or some junk. out of control.
