That may well be the case, and I don't doubt it. I, however, would have posted, not necessarily an apology to the officers, but at the very least, an acknowledgment that, apparently, I was wrong.

That's the beauty of opinions. They're never, ever wrong, because it's about personal perception. If someone thinks the officers were out of line, they can keep thinking the officers were out of line.
