Medications help me get through the day and function. Like, I take four pills for my Bipolar disorder and without them, I'd have a hard time trying to stay stable.

And then if I get a headache and have heart-burn, I take pills for that as well.

So, in other words do you rely on medications to help you? When you're in pain or not feeling right? Personally, myself included I don't know what I'd do without my medications.

I don't take anything daily. Heck.. I have a hard enough time remembering to take my vitamins. :p
I do take an antacid pill every now and then.

The only medication that I take daily is birth control since we're not in the right situation to start having children. My husband has to take medication for his epilepsy and high blood pressure daily though and I do not envy him.

My girlfriend gets the shot every 5 to 6 months. I wish she would get the IUD though, but hey, its not my decision.
What type of birth control pills are you on? Do you have to take it at night and in the morning, or?

A few weeks ago the doc put me on BP meds, it was somwheres around 270/140. I usually run a little high that's just too high. Luckily I haven't blown a gasket yet (heh). It's the first time my life I have to take a daily medication. Not cool. :-/. High BP is preventable though so I've cut out most the sodium I can though I never really used a whole lot of salt anyhow but chips and such are where it's bad. Once the weight comes off and I quit smoking I suspect I'll be able to drop the BP meds.

Went back yesterday for a followup and to have a tick bite checked out and my BP was still high. Diastolic (bottom #) was on point Systolic was still pretty high so she doubled my dose. :-/

In other news, after a month of antibiotics my throat and ears are still inflamed. Doc now suspects it's either viral or allergeries. Neither is a big deal it's more of an annoyance than anything but I'd to know for sure exactly what's going on.

When I get a few extra dollars I'm gonna go for a full blood workup and see how my cholesterol and all is. It usually pretty good but the last time I was tested was 2008.

My dad has to take BP meds and Diabities pills. He's pretty tall and has some extra weight but he has no time to workout because of work.

Are they worried about your cholesterol or anything?

Yeah, been thinking of getting my cholesterol checked. Last time was 2008 and with was within normal range. Not sure how much blood work costs but they bill me separately from the doctor. :-/

I don't depend on medication nor pills that much. Why because I no someda my body would be too dependant on them. But yeah, I eat some pills for headaches and migraines such as the Advil and the Tylenol.

Well, it is a good topic, because it allows us to compare our live styles and health condition. I don't take pills and I avoid them as much as possible. I had only 1 operation in my life till today (and it was about a skin problem - some moles and that's all). The last time when I had to take medicine was because of my nose :).
I'm trying to avoid diseases with some sport, vegetables (salads), sushi, fruits, fish, walks (fresh air), humor (for example comedies or especially parody movies ).
Wish you all better health and a lot of smiles :):):)

The medication for the bipolar I understand. I wouldn't expect anyone to try to manage without them. As for things such as a headache, I would rather go to bed than pop 2 pills every 4-6 hours. The body was not meant to handle all that stuff and it's not good for the stomach lining over time. The less I depend on drugs, the stronger an immune system I have. I don't even remember the last time I got sick.

I do everything in my human conscious power to NOT use any sort of medication or go to doctors.

Yes, I know sometimes that's a bad call. But there are times when these doctors and pharmacists are just using you to make a buck. Because I've had times when I was sick and I literally stopped using the medicines they themselves told me I had to take and I ended up fine. Whereas as I kept doing what they told me, I kept feeling ill and sick.

Ya, its been a major issue for me for the past couple years. I've been stabled for about a year/two months now and I couldn't feel any better for myself. Personally, sometimes I get real bad headaches where it hurts even more when I lay down, so I just let it run its course until the pain medications relieve me of it.

The only time I really get sick is if my girlfriend catches a cold from the kids she works with(she works in a day care), but getting the flu and things like that? I can't actually remember the last time I was that sick.
