I know graphics to some gamers can make or break a game, do graphics matter to you when you play a game? Since I love retro games more than modern, graphics don't matter to me. I think what makes a game good is the story and game play, it also helps if the game has a great soundtrack too! Graphics are definitely the last thing I care about in video games.
As long as I value good gameplay, impressive graphics is very important to me as well. But I can't take good graphics over good gameplay because when I'm playing what's not worth it, it defeats the whole purpose of the game.
Graphics are important if the game is a new, modern game because you want it to look good. Now that monitors and computers are able to display games at a much higher quality it's worth using that.
Much older games that have worse graphics aren't overall that bad. It can be fun to see what games looked like back then and creates that kind of nostalgia effect of when you used to play it.
I think that the graphics for a game are really important because if you're playing a game on something that is really high powered you want to have the graphics reflect the power you have. Game likes Minecraft don't matter so much because of the style of the graphics, but some games need to have crystal clear graphics.
