I need a good, quick recipe for a dip that I can make ahead of time and will travel well. I'm also looking for something different than a typical onion or taco dip as well. Any suggestions?

Mix any with sour cream:

Pepper & dill

hidden valley ranch mix

any good seasons type italian dressing mix

mix in shredded parmesan, garlic powder and italian seasoning

Mix with sour cream: finely diced cucumber and minced garlic

Mix 1 jar prepared salsa, 1 can drained black beans, 1/4 cup of corn

Mix any mrs-dash type seasoning with sour cream

Black Bean salsa

1 can black beans, drained & rinsed
2 cans kernel corn, drained
1/2 C diced red onion
2 plum tomatoes, chopped
1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded & diced
1/2 C chopped cilantro, loosely packed
Juice from 4 or 5 limes
4 tablespoons olive oil
Salt to taste

The longer it sits, the more flavorful it becomes. Usually I make it the day before. Serve with tortilla chips.

This is my favorite one. I've never made it with olive oil though. Our family uses it as a dip, but also as a topping on tacos or a side dish for grilled chicken or fish in the summer. Very filling!

Make a fruit dip with 1 cup vanilla yogurt, 3 tbsp orange marmalade, and 1 tbsp confectioners sugar, mix well. Serve with bite-size fruit pieces on toothpicks/skewers (apple, banana, strawberry, melon...)

Another good fruit dip uses 8 oz softened cream cheese and a 7 oz jar of marshmallow cream, mixed well. You can add up to a cup of cool whip to the mixture, too.

Cool whip and Vanilla or Lemon yogurt for a fruit dip.

Dip strawberries in balsamic vinegar and dabble in powdered sugar---amazing! :vinegar:

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Dip

1 8 oz cream cheese
1 stick of butter
1/2 cup sugar
teaspoon of vanilla
mini chocolate chips

Soften and mix. Serve with animal crackers.
