There was a time when floppy disks were only the external memory devices available to us. It has just 1.44 MB. Then came the Compact Disks, which had 700 MB storage. The popularity of CD made possible for switching from VHS to CD for movie viewing.  Flash memory continuously improved and today we have USB flash drive that have a huge storage even 1-2 TB storage is available.

Floppy disks used to be all the rage until things like USB drives and now cloud storage has taken over. I think you'd seriously struggle to get a modern computer that can even support a floppy disk drive anyway haha!! I wonder if people still actively use them and for what purpose? There's a lot of better options available (clearly!) to use instead.

I've never needed to use a floppy disk before but I know what they are. I think it's really funny to think how far computing has come over the years and how big storage devices have gotten in comparison with floppy disks. Didn't they hold up to only 500MB or something?
