I stumbled across this article online and find it very useful for all of us here in this forum, which is why I decided to share it here for the benefit of us all. Read and apply as you see fit.

Stress at work is unavoidable, however, it can be managed. Below are simple ideas on how to manage stress at work:

Listen to music:

Playing calm music has a positive effect on the brain and body, can lower blood pressure, and reduce cortisol, a hormone linked to stress.

Talk to someone:

When you’re feeling stressed, take a break and talk to someone you can confide in about your problems sometimes. Sometimes all you need is a reassuring voice, even for a minute, can put everything in perspective.

Talk yourself through it:

Talking calmly to yourself can be the next best thing. Don’t worry about seeming crazy — just tell yourself why you're stressed out, what you need to do in completing the task at hand, and most importantly, that everything will be okay.

Drink tea:

Instead of coffee or energy drinks, try green tea. A large dose of caffeine causes a short-term spike in blood pressure.

Exercise:

A short walk around the office or simply standing up to stretch during a break at work can offer immediate relief in a stressful situation. Getting your blood moving releases endorphins and can improve your mood almost instantaneously.

Happy reading Mates .

Thank you for the nice tips that you have shared. It is a known fact that stress in the work place can take its toll on ones performance. I for one, I cannot work effectively when I am stressed. I need to regroup myself and try hard to lessen my stress level in order to work effectively.

Working in a very stressful environment is difficult. I've work an International company before and all I had was stress and problem. Going to work everyday is so hard as you know already what are you expecting.Going home feeling tired every is a nightmare. Add up the traffic from the rush hour.It was a horrible experience.

Yeah, I felt the need to share such useful tips because it appears very helpful where stress at work place is involved, and from observation and analysis most people are stress burdened on daily basis at their work place.

I believe these tips are definitely going to come in handy for anyone willing enough to practice incorporating them on their routine work activities. I make use of them, and they helps a lot.

I thought this was going to be a post by someone stressed out over work, and came prepared to try and cheer people up. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised!
I'm very lucky to work in a job that doesn't tend to stress me out (maybe twice in 6-7 years) so I can't even imagine what it would be like on a daily basis.
If anyone is here looking for support, feel free to drop me a message if you need someone to talk to :)

In this situation, where most of us are living, and in particular those who have sustained work rhythms (professionals, entrepreneurs, managers, but not only, also employees, housewives and the young people themselves), the help of a coach to take stock of the situation with oneself, to become aware of one's lifestyle and to make small or big changes of perspective and behavior useful to face work and private life with greater balance and positivity. Often - let us not forget - the incidence of an event on one's life depends more on the perception we have of it and on the interpretation we give it. So there are many tips that I follow to reduce the stress: maintain a healthy lifestyle (physical activity, proper nutrition, adequate rest); remember to laugh every day and adopt positive thinking; keep active a network of social relations to recharge the batteries; to develop the problem solving mentality, focusing more on "how" to solve a situation than on the "why" happened to us; develop the ability to adequately plan one's own time, always reserving time to "detach" and regenerate; develop assertive forms of communication, in order to empathize with our interlocutors and learn to communicate effectively not only at a cognitive but also emotional level; learn to reward us after a success, small or big.

This is a nice topic to discuss because I am often stressed at work particularly when we have an officer’s meeting. What I usually do is to take a short walk anywhere in the office and find someone pleasant to talk with. I need a diversion so the topic I want to talk about is not related to work. Sometimes I go to the canteen and eat something even if I am not hungry. It’s just my way of diverting my attention and relieving my stress. This may sound funny but in critical times when the stress is too much, I go to the car park, enter my car and play Candy Crush for 5 to 10 minutes. That would definitely relax me.

@Corzhens You are absolutely right in saying it's a nice topic to bring in for all of us here. The moment I came across the article, I felt immediately the immense benefit it would be for lots of people in this forum that are doing one job or another and might be having serious issues coping with the work stress.

After going through every detail on the article and already applying some with my work schedule, everything started moving smoothly for me and I'm glad it's going to add such benefits to members here with their work life.

Being stressed out at the place of work is one thing that we can't rule out considering the fact that we are humans and are prone to being tired at one point or another. Also, understanding the need to keep things in great shape as regards our working situation is good for our mind too.

Whenever I feel tired and stressed out at the place of work, I try as much as I could to take some short walk around the office while looking out the window and before some minutes is gone, I feel better. The firm I work with prohibited listening to songs at the office, though I feel that is a great way to feel better too.

go home drink alcohol, cry thinking that you should have stuck in at school, drink, cry some more, drunk call your ex, wake up rough, delete ur ex's number, go to work rough then repeat ... im just kidding , if you dont like work, leave... dont hold on to a job u hate
