Saw this on another forum and thought I'd share it with you

I'm from Kentucky and I can confirm I dyed a duckling blue once and spent a year in jail for it :O

(sarcasm)

Almost everyone in my neighborhood would be arrested if they lived in Maine. And the California frog law makes absolutely no sense; it's oddly specific.

Actually, most of them seem very outdated and specific. Wouldn't want to break one by accident...

Also another weird law about Kentucky, kind-of dirty but it's true.

You can't operate a sex toy from 9 in the morning to 12 in the afternoon. (Don't know how they'd enforce this)

Seems somewhat lewd, yes.  Yet, laws within other countries are even stranger.

It's against the law in Milan, Italy to not smile at all times.  Hm, sounds like 1984 territory to me...

Hm, I just noticed that the train law in Kansas seems to be a paradox. If one train has to wait for the other train to pass, then neither train will ever get anywhere, because both trains are waiting until the other passes.

A lot of times we forget about these laws but ironically most of them served a real world and acceptable purpose at the time of their crafting. As for Virginia I can guarantee children go trick or treating lol. In fact it's illegal to go trick or treating if you are not a child because it's a child's activity.

USA isn't that old, they even try to have monuments like other countries by making non sense. In my opinion, they are attentionseekers :cute:

Well. That's an interesting perspective...

Um, didn't really know a country had to be old in order to have monuments... That seems a bit trivial and moot to point out.

Agree that the United States are attention seekers though.

Are these real?

They don't really make sense, some of the stuff mentioned are quite weird and it comes to mind why one would do "that" in first place, lol.

We can whine about "America's problems" all we want, but the fact is that the United States has been one of the most successful nations in history. It is still the land of opportunity and a place of unrivaled wealth. The average household income here is about $52,000, and globally, this is in the top 1%. 6.7% of the human population today has a college degree, but in the United States, the number is an astounding 40%. In addition, the United States has the most powerful military to ever exist, and without the threat of nuclear war could easily take over the world. But wait! There is no need, because America has already taken over the world. Our culture has spread throughout the globe, our currency is the global standard, even our language is taught in foreign classrooms. And unlike America, where there really isn't a lot of pressure to actually learn a foreign language, in other nations learning English is stressed. The Sun may have never set on the British Empire, but the American Empire is the entire Earth... and even the Moon.

I can't help but laugh right now. These are some of the weirdest laws i've heard about. Are they for real? Alaska says it's illegal waking a sleeping bear to take a photo. Who does that?

On a serious note though, as silly and stupid as these laws may sound, I believe they serve a purpose. No one law can be enacted without a certain incident relating to it.

Those are some super weird laws but they seem like most are not enforceable because how would anyone know? A lot of countries have silly laws too but they tend to be from decades ago and no one remembered to remove them from the law books. It would be funny to see if someone get caught doing one of these things though!
