Do you think competitive eating is a sport? I think it is. The amount of food these guys down in a short period is just mind blowing. I don't even know how they train their stomach to hold that much food.
I don't think competitive eating should be considered as a sport for two cases. One: there is no physical activity involved in eating. Two: there is no unique skill or training involved either. How do you prepare for a competitive eating competition? I don't know of anyways to eat more than my body can handle; if you know of some, please inform me.
Believe it or not, some do train for competitive eating. They practice consuming as much as they can, which stretches their stomach so they can consume more.
Totally agree with that Fred. Although it is far harder to train your body to eat less in my experience! 6 meals though - ouch! No wonder you were feeling so hungry so often after that. Hope it paid off!
I don't think it really qualifies as a sport and to be honest it's pretty disgusting!
