Chicagoland Area Peeps--School closings listed already

This one has bad timing...if it hits midnight-3 ish (depending on the forecaster) and goes steady through the morning I wouldn't send my kids anyway (probably).

Then again, cancelling school before the first flake falls feels silly too.

We're in Mundelein too. FYI Fremont schools will be closed too, but that's still unofficial. My neighbor is the only one who knows how to run the system that notifies parents, and she's on vacation. DH is over at their house getting her the info she needs to get the system running.

Our school is doing ISAT testing, I don't think they want to cancel--maybe early release--since ISAT is in the morning--guess we will wait and see. DH told me he is on alert for tomorrow evening at 6--if necessary--the if necessary is making me not worry--He didn't speak much when I asked him for more info--he said he just got home can I give him some time--I said of course-=-since it is all over the news--but people are asking--so please let me know if you see something!

Kaneland is closed (out in Maple Park, actually closer to Elburn)

Lake Villa is closed (grade school & high school). They have ISAT's this week, so looks like they'll run into next week?

Waukegan is ISAT testing all this week and closed too.

I believe there are make up dates available

We have ISAT testing as well, school was just cancelled! I'm on shock! I would o thought they would I'd waited.

MY DH heard that the south subs are supposed to be hit hard but of course they will wait til tomorrow to announce closings. Lisa I bet our school will be a "late start'"

What is really confusing me is NOW they are saying it won't hit until like NOON tomorrow.....but the kids are out of school already.

looks like up in our corner is the 5-8 inches and Chicago is the 8-12 with lake effect likely to add to Will/Cook counties totals.
