Cellphones

From my experience, Motorola phones CONSISTENTLY have the worst user interface. I would take just about ANY other brand of phone over a Motorola in a heartbeat.

i've got a samsung ACE, which i'm pretty happy with. when i'm eligible for an upgrade (about a year and a half), i'm planning to get whatever front-running google phone they have out.

I'm on my 2nd HTC phone, and they're just awesome.

That said, I don't go for the "trendy" phones, since they almost never seem to satisfy my needs in a phone. They have a bunch of features that I'll simply never use, like video, music, etc.
Give me a phone that lets me make phone calls, send text and email, and lightly manage my schedule, and I'm fine.

HTC is actually my preferred brand. Having had a the T-Mobile SDA (HTC Tornado), T-Mobile Dash (HTC Excalibur), and the Sprint Touch (HTC Vogue), I have been very happy with the build quality and the feature set (and I actually really like/appreciate Windows Mobile). My next phone will likely be the Sprint Touch Diamond (CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond).

I appreciate the importance of Google's Android platform, and I've even got it installed on my Sprint Touch to play around with. But, in it's current stage, I just don't like the user interface compared to the amazing things that HTC has been doing to the Windows Mobile interface. I'm sure that Android will become a major player, but right now I wouldn't trade my HTC customized Windows Mobile interface for Android.

i've got one of those awful razr phones that wouldn't hold a charge if my life depended on it. can't wait to dump this sucker.

it looks nice tho :D

Sorry, wasn't trying to move the discussion elsewhere, I just didn't feel like reposting.

I have a Samsung Slash slider phone by Virgin Mobile, and it's a great little phone, Virgin's best yet. I like this company, because I'm not a huge phone talker, so I can last on just 200 minutes per month for $20, which being a college student, is what I can afford. I don't use it constantly, but I like it for more than just emergencies. It's really no different from those high-end phones- just at a much cheaper price! :) The Slash is a great phone for my needs.

Sorry... it just ain't true.
There are numerous differences between that phone and higher-end phones. Not the least of which is an often an open application platform. There are also often significant hardware differences.

Whether or not you need these features is another matter, but there major differences at play here. Just saying it's no different doesn't make it so.

Diesel, which HTC do you have? I really like this OEM for the most part, but their lack of video drivers have kind of annoyed me as of late. So has Windows Mobile. I'm seriously considering going back to Blackberry now that the Bold has been released.
