Boys, and Peeing on the Floor

If it makes you feel any better, I have three boys (one girl between them) and my youngest (4 now) used to purposely pee ON THE FLOOR to mark his territory( yes, like a dog!!) md said because he was the you gets and trying to " establish himself" thank the good lord that passed, but he still goes #2 squatting on the seat like a frog; he is super little and when he was first learning used to fall throguh with his bottom, and has just never stopped boing that way:-).
Matter of fact, today he actually peed on ,e while I was driving because he had to pee and he couldn't hold it (he's four) and "missed"the empty bottle I had in the car......um hope it makes you feel better??

I have no idea what he's more used to. He likes to shower, but he also likes to take a bath. I do know that they went through an ENTIRE bottle of Suave kids in two days. Now they have a bottle of regular shampoo that I am filling a little at a time. :gah: His hair is short...and when you use 1/4 of a bottle in one washing, you can't help but do a good job. :lol:

OMG! :lol: I don't know what's funnier- the frog part or the peeing on you in the car.

My ds8 sits to pee. Whenever there is pee on the seat we always know it was one of the others who stand. DS8 also takes baths, not showers. I would say the usual age for transitioning from a bath to a shower is somewhere around 9, probably by 10 (for my boys). I sympathize with kids emptying the shampoo into the tub. They love squeezing out the soap. Have they emptied out your hand soap containers yet? Don't leave body wash, razors, Olay facial scrub, etc.... in the tub area or basically anything you don't want emptied/taken apart/played with. Ds8 emptied my Olay
Regenerist facial scrub into the tub not too long ago. Dh and my bathroom is out of order and we've had to share with the kids which is why I've had the painful reminder about how they love to empty stuff into the tub. Occasionally mine empty the hand soap that sits on the bathroom counter (both into the sink and the tub). Kids love bubbles and they love containers they can fill and squirt.

My dad, hillbilly that he was raised to be, taught my boys to mark their territory. I love my dad, but what a dumb thing to teach them! I bet you have had them pee on the tree in your backyard too. I'm sure at some point all of mine have. DS8 used to perch on the seat to poop. He, uh, marches to the beat of a different drummer. Lately he keeps putting his feet on the table when we do school. He is a sweetie, but a handful.
 
dragonfly he's young..........you need to help him to know how to wash up.
 
DD5 likes to take showers, is that weird that it's early? She started asking questions about penises and stuff b/c she took baths with DS - pediatrician advised splitting them up and letting her shower (with out help washing).

She likes them, so :9: She still bathes too, it's probably a 50/50 split.
 
I don't think it's weird, Red. My DD's probably started showering on occasion around age 5, too. I think it's a matter of them being mature enough to do it & not freak out about the water on their face.

hsmom- we have also gone through a lot of hand soap! They like to wash the sink. They can be so helpful at times. :p The shower/tub is totally empty of all of the older girls stuff now. Little guy is missing part of his eyebrow after attempting to shave. :lol:

MrsMom, I think you're right. He just needs to be shown certain things. I assume he's been taught these things because he was with a "regular" family for so long, it's not like he was taken from crappy parents 2 weeks ago & handed over to us. It's looking like they were lazy parents in every area.
 
Lex already alternates between baths and showers and has done so for probably the last year. It all depends on his mood. Sometimes he wants to play in the tub and sometimes he wants to be in and out so he can get back to whatever he was doing (watching TV, playing games, playing with his cars....).

Either way I always wash his hair and sometimes help wash the rest of him. Depends on how dirty he is.
 
Boys are not the best at cleanliness and knowing how to clean. Try to do an incentive to see if he can pee without making a mess (or cleaning up after himself) to know if it is just lazyness or something else. You stated he has accidents still, is it serious enough for it to be a treatment area for him? If so I would look further into some of the stuff Staz said.

But welcome to the world of dirty icky boys :)

Same with my 10 year old. He can't wait to get out of the shower. I've threatened to have his dad go in there and help him if he can't take card of stuff himself. :snicker: I do sometimes go put shampoo on the 8 year old if he has been in the tub forever and still hasn't washed his hair.

The peeing on the floor is getting better, btw. I guess cleaning it up was only amusing for awhile. Although I do constantly remind him: EVERY DROP, and I mean EVERY. SINGLE. DROP. better go IN the toilet. I want to hear it hit the water, Pal. :snicker:
