Yup, I like it too, I think it's one of the better ones of the past years!
But I'm a bit surprised about the amount of praise it gets ... it's a really short game too ... if that's the acme of the game industry, I'm thoroughly surprised. B/c it has RPG elements in it, it can be compared to games like Okami and Final Fantasy XII. Okami for instance can take over 60 hours for playing through the first time, and FF XII far over 120 hours (I'd estimate that over 200 hours) ... In Bioshock Infinite, I had reached the final battle in less than 20 hours (on easy though). That's why I'm playing it again, to see if I missed opportunities for exploration.
When compared to other ego shooters, I miss the functionality of saving a game whenever I want, and saving as many games as I want. (Unfortunately, other PS3 games like Crysis do the same thing, Final Fantasy XIII however doesn't.)
Also, I miss the ability to carry as many weapons as I want. They've done basically the same thing as in Halo or Halo II. The magical clothing feature seems like taken from Final Fantasy X-2. And the warping thing seems as if inspired by StarCraft's Protoss species.
I'm not complaining, just wondering! :D
I used to write a lot of games as a teen, and I'm always wondering why game development has been mostly stagnating for the past 30 years ... sure, graphics and sound are better now, but the game play and level design etc. has often remained the same or similar as in old 2D games.
I have a free game coupon from AMD for this game and Tomb Raider...Was thinking about selling the coupon for the games. Should I keep it? I would probably never play lol
