Merry Christmas CW!
Short background - my dad passed away almost 10 years ago, his dad died 11 years ago, and his mom outlived them and passed 4 years ago. My grandparents had 13 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren (that were always treated the same), and 12 great-grandchildren. Today my mom went to the family party, but I couldn't go because DH's parents have their Christmas at the same time. So every year I have to pick. This year I did not pick my family.
My mom came home and said there is a present from your Aunt on the counter. I thought it would be candy or something. No. She sent my grandmothers wedding rings for me!!!!!! Grandma left them to her only daughter who only has boys. I am not sure if Grandma told her to give me the rings next or if my aunt picked me. I am not the oldest grandchild or even the oldest girl. It's a very tight-knit Irish family with drama here and there. When my other cousins find out that I have these rings they will be PISSED!!!!! When my grandma died she left specific instructions on who got what. I never figured I would see these rings because my older cousin shares her birthday with grandma and they were always so close. I lived farther away and only saw them a few times a year. I feel so guilty.
I do look the most like grandma and the rings were a perfect fit. So please help me feel like Cinderella and graciously handle this and be happy.....

Merry Christmas. No need to feel guilty because someone gave you a gift. Always remember you can't out give God :)

That's wonderful! What an amazing thing of your grandmother's to have. Don't feel guilty, they were given to you for a reason & I'm sure it wasn't an easy decision. Enjoy them, they are such a meaningful gift.

They were meant to be yours or you would not have them. Fate. No need to feel guilty. What a great gift to receive. Merry Christmas.

How wonderful! Don't feel guilty, like you said she was very specific so it was probably a decision she made. If you get any flak remind them they were given to you, that isn't something you can control. ENJOY!!!

It doesn't matter how often she saw you...she obviously liked you or else she wouldn't have given them to you...sometimes the peeps we think are the "favorites" are the least favorite after all. Be glad!

Thanks Guys! I love me some CW therapy! Its cheap and easy too.....
All day I keep looking down at my hand in disbelief. Its funny how two little circles represent so much and hold so much meaning. I had always said I didn't need to inherit anything because I already had Grandmas eyes. I remember her and my dad each time I look in the mirror.
