Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to give you the heads up if you are planning to go apple picking this season, you will want to go sooner than later. We went this week to Royal Oaks and their trees only produced 30% of apples this year. They are limiting each person to 1/4 peck. You might want to call whatever orchard you go to and check what their supply is and go sooner than later.

The apples we picked are delicious.

Yep, we're going tomorrow. Jonamac I think. May have to hit Schnucks on the way back to make the trip worthwhile after blowing all that $$ on gas and entrance fees.

Kuipers in Maple Park limiting at self pick too...Gala are wonderful apples

Thinking of going to www.heinzorchard.com tomorrow.

There are 2 individually owned farms near the WI border and I can't remember if the farms are in IL or WI. One is just apples and the other is apples, juice, a meat house, donuts and so on. Does anyone know the names of the farms in question? I wanna go to the just apples one.

Wow I answered my own question here. Nice.

The Oriole Springs Orchard is the one with apples only. The one with the donuts, cider, meat house is Harvest Time Orchards. Both are in Twin Lakes, just down the street from one another.

we brought back apples from Michigan (all the roadside stands had them this week), but I could go for some donuts and cider

I found their website and now I feel like Homer Simpson, "donuts!" http://www.myharvesttime.com/page/donutshop.html

Actually they were once the same properties. There was a divorce in the family and they may have split the property and have the two separate businesses.

I was wondering how that happened. Never seen 2 farms so close together like that.
We decided to skip this week, thought the orchards might be sloppy since it rained.

DS took the little ones to Apple Holler today...He's got a GF from Kenosha...
