I have never had 'big' birthday parties for the kids.

We've done the 5 kids at the bowling alley, couple to the movies, etc.

So the oldest is turning 15, and since her 16th will be just a few weeks before she leaves for a Marching Band trip to Ireland, I've decided to have the party this year.

We have decided to have a Karokee DJ come, and do the party at our Church. Guest list is about 45.

Plan is to have the Karokee for 2 hours . . though I am really debating going to 3.

And doing either Italian or Taco Bar for food.

But I'm trying to come up with another activity to keep the party going a little longer.

Ideas greatly appreciated!
 
I don't think 15 yos really need an activity...music, karaoke, food, and the chance to hang out together is usually sufficient.

Between eating and dancing and then (I assume) cake time...2-3 hours should fly by with that age group.

If you think you need something more...what I would recommend would probably depend on if it is just the girls or a mix.
 
Be sure to make (or buy) some props for photo booth pictures. We did these for Christmas as my house but I'm sure with a little searching you could find Birthday Themed ones.

Most times kids that age think an activity is "lame". We have even had pool parties at our local pool and kids didn't go in the water. They just sat and talked. With a DJ they migt not even dance either. My girls all say just a DJ and they are 19,17,15. If you were not having a "part" they all say that Extreme Trampoline is fun. Oh the next piece of advice from them is to make sure the DJ doesn't suck.
 
Minute to win it. We did it at Christmas...it was so much fun at the first party that we ended up using it at five subsequent parties. All ages loved it!! Check the minute to win it website for lots and lots of ideas.
 
and as lame as it sounds--as long as the dj doesn't do it the whole time--those stupid dj activities they kids like--like using a box of hats etc..for YMCA or hula hooping etc..

We personally know the DJ - and he is well known in the area for Karokee, he will get them up singing and sing with them if need be
 
i agree with the minute to win it. First thing i thought of when you were looking for ideas. You could even have prizes (dollar store, after christmas clearance?)

You could even have game or activity 'stations' set up. So if some wanted to do it and others didn't there would be no pressure to have EVERYONE included:-)
 
I don't think the teens will need activities. But if there are going to be smaller kids they would enjoy something to do.

Minute to Win It sounds fun.
 
So DD has asked for . .. a Playdough table ... she even promises to clean up any mess. LOL


We've started scouting out clearance candy for her desert table. Found some Mint M&Ms, and Peppermint Andes
