Also, why?

Personally, I'm honestly not fussed. I suppose a boy would be eaiser to bond with, but a girl would be just as good. :)

LOL so glad you made this thread Kirk.

Even before I got pregnant, I knew if I were to ever have a child, it would HAVE to be a girl.
I have no interest in raising a boy whatsoever. I have no idea how I WOULD raise a boy.
They are pretty much a noise with dirt on it.
AND since you cant exactly pick and choose when you get pregnant, I would have preferred adoption.

However, I got pregnant, and I told Dan right from the get go that it would be a girl and low & behold; I was right!

Thank fack.
There's 4 other babies in my family due within months of each other, and ours is the only girl. xD

I'd be a jealous dad and so I'm feared to death of having a daughter. I would enjoy teaching my son all about life, useful skills, sports, girls etc. too.

First and foremost we can only hope and pray that should we be blessed with having children eventually, that they are born healthy.

Having said that, we feel sure that we would somehow manage and cope if sadly they weren't.

As regards preference it would be absolutely lovely and wonderful to have one of each...However we do not do the deciding, do we!

This. I'll be one of those dads wanting to murder whoever wants to date her, or if they even look like they'll pull something.

^You just need to make a show of cleaning your shot gun when they show up at your door.

Sets them straight pretty quick. xD
THAT'S WHAT I PICTURE. Sitting on the front porch, wiping my shotgun, glaring at the road, waiting. :3

I think I'd have issues with the kid regardless, but I think a boy would be easier to deal with personally.
I was never good at dealing with other girls anyway, and I've seen the way every female I know act around their mothers - esp. my sister and our mother.
I don't know, it would really depend on the kids personality either way, each kid is different. My concern about having a daughter would be understanding her, I guess. Women have a tendency to think more emotionally and make a big deal over nothing. Plus girls end up costing more in the long run, and God forbid my daughter take after my fathers side of the family - then it'll be nonstop complaining about backaches, and having to special order bras all the time. Then she'll just end up costing me even more in the long run...

I don't know, guess I figure my odds are better bonding with a boy than with a girl.

It all just depends though, I guess. It comes down to how you raise the kid, and what choices they decide to make, influences outside of your own control too, plus the childs nature, that decides how they turn out. But perhaps by virtue of just not liking to touch other females is why I'd prefer a boy. I find it easier to be affectionate to the opposite sex, plus I have a bad history with other females.

As a baby it wouldn't matter much, its as they get older and develop more of a refined personality, and when they hit puberty, that I'm concerned with. So basically, I'd like a boy, but even if I were to have a girl I'd be happy.

I don't know.
I really would like a girl because it's fun to dress them up. But at the same time, I just want a sturdy kid who doesn't mind rolling around in the mud every now and then and climbing trees. So... yeah. If I had a girl that wouldn't mind all that stuff, that would be AWESOME. Girls are just awesome.
But like I said, I wouldn't mind having a boy either.

I've always wanted a son. I'd teach him what most guys don't know how to do these days: pull up their pants. LOL. Well I'd teach him many other things. :) I wouldn't mind a daughter, but I would perfer a son. ^^

I'm a girl but I'd like a son first. Well I'm not too fussed but so he can look after the girl when the going gets tough. <3
