A homeless woman who sneaked into a man's house and lived undetected in his closet for a year was arrested in Japan after he became suspicious when food mysteriously began disappearing.

Police found the 58-year-old woman Thursday hiding in the top compartment of the man's closet and arrested her for trespassing, police spokesman Hiroki Itakura from southern Kasuya town said Friday.

That's just strange. How could you not know, after one whole year, that someone is living inside your closet. That's insane.

I wonder what he thought that gave him the idea to check his closet after he started to notice that some of his food was missing. That's what I'd like to know.

Maybe he was looking for the sweater his great aunt gave him for Christmas five years ago..

Those darn homeless people. You can never find them when you want them, and they're always in the last place you look.
 
Wow.... and like everyone said, how can you have a person living in your closet for 1 full year and not even know?? Weird stuff!

That's very simple: If the man was unmarried, he probably got dressed at his mom's place, because Japanese men are reputedly unable to tie their own shoelaces, they're so dependent on their moms (or wives).
 
What did she do when he came home from work if she needed to use the bathroom? Another thing, she never coughed or sneezed when he was home, she never made a sound, this is just to hard to believe.

Maybe she just drank til she passed out and didn't have to worry about odd noises ;)
