Is she registered anywhere? You can usually take the registry and then find the things cheaper somewhere or on sale. You can use bed bath and beyond coupons and a lot of places---

I went to a Christian Book Store and I bought things on clearance---I got some nice wind chimes for their new home--normally 80.00 down to 5.00
Buy some Kohls coupons and buy things on her registry cheaper using the coupons.
Carsons has the 5 off of 5 coupons--maybe find things she wants there--napkins, napkin rings etc- and buy an entire set--little by little using the coupons.
Check clearance areas at your local stores--and stock pile kitchen items etc---Check Target to see if they have any home coupons (like they did over Christmas with the the table cloth and napkins)
Maybe buy some Holiday themed things--so that every Holiday they have things to put out--buy them while it is on clearance--then make a really nice basket with all the items
Have a home party and buy something from the home party with your rewards (pampered chef, tupperware, scentsy, etc)
A few people on this board (sorry can't remember names) have some cute items they make--someone made wine glasses with their names etc--create something just for them with their names--and ask the person on the board to make them
