hat are your thoughts on boarding schools where children are sent to live at school during the term time and then come home during the breaks of the year? I never went to a boarding school luckily, but I know it canoe tough if you don't fit in.

Whilst you basically live with your friends, you're always at school which means you never get any true time to be alone and relax. Do you think it's a good idea for children to experience this or is it better to go to a normal school like the majority of people?

I can't imagine how hard it must be to go to boarding school especially for young people. It seems so strange to me for children to get sent away to go to school. It must get lonely if you don't have friends there. It also sounds like you don't get a lot of free time and time to yourself so it must be quite stressful for some. I think it is something which is only really done by families that are rich.

To me boarding school has always been something that posh / rich people send their children to as a way of getting them out of the house. I feel like it's a culture thing to send your children off to strict schools that mould them into a certain type of person.

I don't personally like them much because it almost takes the childish values away from children and removes some freedoms but I get why for some families it may be a better option.

I attended a boarding school in my secondary school days
The experience was somehow interesting, somehow boring.

Boring as a junior student, I went through punishments and all
Interesting as a senior student, I was the one now punishing juniors.
I love the boarding school but will not let my kids attend one

I understand the dangers that come with sending kids to boarding school, but my kids will still go to boarding schools simply because it will give them enough time to focus on reading and learning the things they are been taught in school. I have the feeling that letting them stay at home will mean they don't get the focused on academics.

I attended boarding school and it is an expirience I wouldnt want my kids to have. I feel that's age kids should spend more time with their parents in order to build more bond and also learn some basic things that will prepare them for adulthood. Hunger and bullying in boarding schools is also another that I dislike so much.

I actually attended boarding all through middle school and high school. Boarding school has its own advantages but that doesn't mean it's the best form or way of acquiring education.

I went to a boarding school and I want my kids to go to boarding school. First of all, in a boarding skill, you will learn discipline, secondly, you will get a daily dose of exercise, which can be your life-long activity, thirdly, you will learn to become emotionally stable.

Boarding school, fond memories. I went to one and it was very interesting. Though as a junior student, my greatest wish was to be a senior so I could escape punishment and the vigorous exercises. If I find a good one,I can allow my kids to attend.

Being a junior student at a school can be draining. You may end up not enjoying those moments that you wish to enjoy.

I never went to a boarding school myself, I always went to a public school so I never experienced what it was like being in a boarding school. I know though that most of the children who end up going to boarding schools are usually the kids who have parents that work away and the only time they can get off work or find the time to be off work is when the kids have something like a school break.
