Forums have been around for years and years now and some of the big, old forums are still around. I'm curious to know what the first forum was that you joined which got you into the whole forum scene.
The first forum I ever joined was the game forums for RuneScape hahaha!! I know, super old, right? I spent quite a lot of time on them and that really got me into the whole message board, bulletin board thing. What forum first got you interested??
The first forum I ever joined was the HubPages forum, the forum was a discussion board for the writers writing on HubPages. I was very active on the forum for a couple of years, then I left the forum when a few people picked up bones with me. Between 2015-2018, I was posting on over 20 forums every day.
I can't remember the first forum I ever visited. I've been on a lot although I tend to not sign up until I've come back plenty of times to see what the overall vibe is. I don't just sign up straight away. It can be nice to just read things sometimes rather than joining and posting on loads at the same time.
The first forum I can remember visiting was Sonic 2 Beta, which is essentially Sonic Retro now. There was a merge that happened in early 2007 but I didn't join Retro until 2008. I visited the Sonic 2 Beta forums in 2006 one day at school. The first forum I joined was Glitch City Labs, a website dedicated to documenting various glitches in the Pokemon games. The forum shut down sadly in 2020, and was moved to a discord server so I rarely visit the place anymore as I like forums better.
The first forum I ever joined was back in 2004 if I remember rightly and it was a tech forum. I was a member of it for quite a few years and even became staff at one point, unfortunately I found that some staff members had issues with me and would do everything they could to get rid of me despite the fact I was an active member without any warnings or issues. I was eventually banned after the Admin too the word of the lead moderator who we later found out he was having an affair with. Not too long after I noticed the forum had closed.
