Has industry painted a picture livestock to be seen as stupid, dumb, thoughtless animals so it makes it easier for us to accept them as stake and pork than animals with thoughts and feelings?

I don’t see there being anything wrong with farming animals for consumption as long as it’s done humanely. Some animals like chickens, cows or pigs do serve a purpose in humans food chain although I think they should be kept in good conditions and slaughtered in an ethical way.

I personally think all animals should be valued the same, they are all living creatures with feelings. I always struggle to balance eating animal products and my feelings around how the animals are treated/farmed. I think it is important to place value on the farmers/producers that have good attitudes and ethics towards their treatment of animals.
