I currently have Internet Explorer 5 on Windows 98. Does anyone know if there is a better browser than this that I could be using? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Just depends on your own personal prefs.
I like netscape, but it tends to crash a lot.
I would use IE to remedy this, but I dislike when IE takes the whole OS with it

That and I don't like some of its options.
You could maybe try opera : http://www.opera.com/

I personally think that IE 5 is the most stable and reliable browers out at the moment for the Microsoft OSs so thats what I use. Netscape has been buggy ever since 4.x came out.

I only use it when I'm in Linux.

I used to be a hardcore netscape fan, but due to the slow releases after version 4 by netscape, I ended up switching to IE5.

I haven't tried the prerelease of netscape 6, or ie5.5.

For the most part, it is up to personal preference. IE is much more integreated into windows, and as moonsee stated, that might not be a good thing

. Try them out and compare them yourself

In Hong Kong, you'd be dead.

Try I.E. 5.5. I've ran it for quite a while and find it both stable and fast at loading pages. If your using win 98 it's available as a beta thru your win update.

I used to be a hardcore Netscape person - wouldn't touch IE for anything. Then, as has been said, Netscape screwed up with the 4. releases and I now only use IE.
