anyone know what kernell32.dll is? i keep getting random error popup messages about it. from the little i've heard from others, it isn't good :ut-oh:

kernel32.dll is part of the Windows NT kernel, which is an integral part of Windows NT, 2000, and XP.

kernell32.dll is obviously a file trying to masquerade as kernel32.dll, and is likely either part of a spyware package, trojan, or virus.

From a search on Symantec's site, it looks like it's Backdoor.Destiny.

Good news is that a decent virus scanner should take it out fairly easily. Bad news is that you have an open backdoor on your system, so consider it compromised.

maybe it was just kernel32.dll, with one L. i wrote the entire message down at one point, but accidentally threw it away. i'm running winME, if that makes any difference.

Update your anti-virus and run a scan, or get anti-virus software if you don't have any. Also get Ad-aware and run that.

I echo everyone else here, get anti virus and ad-aware, and while your at it . . . get a new OS, ME is the worst Operating system I have ever seen.
