on-line storage?

Personally, I don't think it's that great. You're left at the mercy of the slowness of the remote servers, and they can shut down or leave you without access to YOUR files at any time.

I prefer having my stuff right here with me, accessible whenever I need it, and if someone else needs access to a few of my files, I make those few available via HTTP or FTP.

what do you think of on-line storage (like x-drive, etc.). is this a good idea or not ?

hmmm ... good point, and plus the fact that the privacy issue may come in to play by having ALL your files just "out there" ...
