Forgot the name, but some magazine you can buy at Wal-Mart in the US was talking about Mars exploration, how it could be coming soon and the struggles faced. Any thoughts?
I heard this news on television, but I do not think this is possible at the time. Thre are big costs to realize something like this, besides there are a lot of important things that should be realized before to explore the space or a planet. For example, they should find the cure for cancer than invest money in exploring Mars.
It has been over 50 years since we (supposedly) went to the moon, and even that is highly questionable . If we were able to go to the moon with the simple technology that existed back in the 1960’s, then we certainly would be able to go there again with the technology that we have now.
Instead, NASA says that we have “lost the technology” that we had before and now we can’t even make it through the Van Allen radiation belts. We can’t even send a human outside of low earth orbit, there is no way that we can even honestly consider exploration on Mars, at least not anything meaningful to the possibility of humans ever actually living on Mars, like they have talked about doing.
I remember reading that they were already taking names for the first Martian colony, which would be a one-way trip; since anyone who made it to Mars would have no way to ever get back to earth from there.
We would never even know if such an expedition ever even made it to Mars, not truthfully, so we would have to go by whatever we were told happened to the explorers who went there.
I do not think that any exploration of Mars will happen in the foreseeable future.
