So while I understand that desktop computers give you much more bang for your buck, and that is good enough reason for many people to get them, I prefer laptops. This being said, I also have a monitor, mechanical keyboard, and mouse set up on my desk that I plug my laptop into when I am at home. I realize that this is not the most cost effective solution, but I find that it works for me because it kind of serves as both a laptop and a desktop.
As for which one is better, I really think it depends how you plan to use it, and what your preference is.
It depends. There's a lot of factors. For example: I have my desk setup where I do a majority of my work. It's got the deskphone, and a Mac Mini on it. It provides enough grunt for me to be able to work properly.
I have a 15" Macbook Pro and a Surface Laptop that I can use when I'm out and about, and I telecommute a lot.
I used to have a PC before I loved having a PC because I can upgrade the specs and I can assemble them but now it's stuck I don't know how to repair it no idea about the cause so now I'm using a laptop. I'm now comfortable using a laptop. I realized that laptop has a longer lifespan than a PC. I can bring it everywhere unlike the PC it just stays at home.
