Continued from my other post...

I had my review at work today, they snatched my bonus from me $1K should have received it Friday, NO RAISE for the next year and NO BONUS NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!

Really???? ****!!!!!!!!

What to do ... What to do...


Forgot to mention I have only been in tears since I left his office at 11:45am. Spoke to HR ya right that worked for ****, nothing!
 
That's terrible! I feel your pain in a sense as we haven't had any raise at all for the past 5 years. We are all supposed to be grateful for being employed, but the prices of everything I pay for keep rising.

During this terrible economy, employers are trying to survive just as much as all of us are. My DH had a business fail last year ... it was really hard and continues to be very difficult for us financially. He had to cut salaries and deny bonus' to employees. It was all done with the intention of staying in business, not to screw over the employees and take the money for himself. We skipped several paychecks for ourselves to keep it in the business once revenues dropped. His employees treated him like dirt and had NO IDEA everything he/we did to keep things going. We are the ones who lost the most - everything we had put into the business was gone, and to make it an even bigger slap in the face, he was unable to get unemployment b/c he was the OWNER of the business, not an employee.

Just the other side of it all, my DH is not a bad guy or an ****, but as a business owner you have to make difficult decisions for the sake of everyone ... not just yourself. If employers keep paying bonus' and salaries at the same rate when revenues are down so significantly, the business will not survive.

Now this is probably not the financial situation of all businesses right now, but many small business owners are in very tough shape right now.

I am happy for you that you still have your job, I know you were very concerned about it.

Thank you for the replies. Not one good thing was said in my review. I guess I just suck, so BIG QUESTION WHY KEEP ME??? WTF???????? I don't suck that's why they put me on a project with a HORRIBLE project manager. Another admin worked for him for 3 yrs and did not get a raise or bonus the entire time. They constintly tore her down, this is suppose to help her???????????? Or me????????????

This company is not struggling by any means! This company gave raised and bonus to probably 98% of the other employees. Maybe even all but me. Truly!

I am beyond pissed, beyond hurt and beyond heart broken. I am truly numb at this point. My eyes are swollen, my nose hurts from blowing it and my head is PPPPOOOOUUUUNNNNDDDDIIINNNGGG!!!!!!!!!
 
Now that you said that about the PM...it sounds like it's the PM that's the problem. I assume he has influence over your bonus/raise?

They keep you because of one of these reasons:

A. you do a good job and they know your PM is an a** or
B. they just don't want to hire someone else right now or
C. They are trying to force you out or to quit.

Didn't you say they just brought in a temp to work with that guy?

This is my second year of no raises and health insurance went up almost $100 a month for less coverage.

DH job is still behind in paychecks (big time!) and struggling.

Just sucks so so many people

My dh's employer has not given raises for three straight years. They have talked about the possibility of pay cuts. Hours were cut over a year ago. Health insurance deductible went up to $10,000 (from $3000 or $4000 last year - I forget because it is changing every year) and haven't ever had dental or vision coverage since he started over 10 years ago. That's why I take whatever I can get couponing - we'll sell it if we can.

Yes they did and I am training her on the project. Funny I am good enough to train her but not do the project?!?!?!?!?!

And the other girl is still here, she has been w the company for 20 years+. She is now off his project and getting raises and bonuses again! I am happy for her.

My goals now are to find another job SOON! Keep me in your thoughts please.

And I am so happy I do have a job just sucks to deal with this.

if there is no track record of him doing this to people they are going to keep him on and assume it's everyone else if he gets the projects done.
It's not going to help now that it's already done, but logs should be kept and turned into HR to track this. so that next yr he doesn't do this to you again....
 
I'm sorry love! I know it is hard, but hang in there b/c the economy does suck! I haven't a raise for awhile either... but it is b/c the compnay is trying to survive.

Hang in there! You have all of us to tell you how much you rock!

And, if you can, get others to vouch for the quality of your work, especially people higher up than you. I work at a local college and am the liaison between two departments that don't always get along that well. In particular, the associate dean in department #1 was unprofessional, vengeful, and spiteful toward me and others in department #2, and was constantly complaining to his higher ups about everything little thing. My immediate supervisor, who knew me better, stood up for me. I don't know if there's a direct connection or not, but a couple months later, the associate dean became a recruiter for distance education programs; what's more telling is that he lost his office and was moved to a cubicle (a sure sign of demotion in that little world). I hope it gets better for you soon!
