I have created ecommerce websites for myself as well as my clients. However, I have not used a proper ecommerce content management system, instead built ecommerce site with wordpress. Wordpress is free and woocommerce, the ecommerce plugin for wordpress, is also free. Therefore creating ecommerce store with wordpress is free.
