I've been thinking about getting an SP, but, I wasn't sure on a couple things. I just want to make sure it's actually worth it before I go spend my money that I could use on the new car I'm supposed to get soon.

I know that the lighting system is supposed to be pretty good, but what about the sound and the button placement? Are they good enough to consider buying an SP?

Those are both things that you can check out for yourself at any store that sells videogames. Target, Best Buy, Toys R Us, EBGames all have the SP on display. Anyway, my opinion is that the D-Pad and A/B buttons are superior to the old GBA. The shoulder buttons are a little troublesome though. Sound is the same to me.

I just bought one 3 days ago, its awsome.. light, compact, light works great, sound is loud and good quality. My advice would be to dump your current gba and get gbasp

Alrighty then...I think I'll get one, but not until I get back home on Monday.

Let's keep this thread open and discuss the GBA SP so we don't make more threads about it.

I was tempted to buy an SP for the sheer fact of owning one, but then I realized it would follow suit with my GBA and retire to my dresser drawer after its "new purchase fun factor" expired in about seven days... so I steered clear. It's dope looking though! :dme:

I'm going to get a silver one, they look better. Also, I'm hearing now that the paint comes off relatively easy. Someone wanna clear that up for me?

I got one thursday I dont regret it. The button placement is ok it may take time to get used to. Ohh and I got Cobalt.

Also somone told me that the platinum comes with a pouch but I dont know it that is true.

I'm not sure on that one at all...I might leave the Universal complex today and go get one. (I've been at Universal since Thursday at around noon, haven't left at all for anything.)

SP's are tight. My friend got one so I'm borrowing it from him. Its easy to get use to so thats not a problem...if thats what your worried about...

Neither am I...stop bragging about being at Universal.

^ haha

i tried it out at best buy, i think the R and L button placement sucks. so does the size of the buttons. sucks
but it looks cool

Oh, it is the same size? Someone told me it was just a little bit bigger.

Any other pros or cons I should know about? I'm gonna go probably tomorrow and pick one up.

I got a blue one, people think its purple though lol I like it better than silver though so I dont care.

At least Xelation can admit that he owns a purple children's toy. :rollseyes

Actually, I have nothing against Gameboys, and think they appeal to all ages. I actually bought a GBA a while back, but abandoned it for some reason.
