[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Eight, 8-ounce glasses.
Sixty-four ounces.
Two quarts.
A half-gallon

Anyway you pour it, that's a lot of water. Do you drink the recommended amount of water every day?

I usually drink about 6 glasses or something a day, never fizzy stuff though I've been off that stuff for a few years now.

100% Pepsi Addict! I placed a jug of water in the refrigerator on January 1, 2005 determined that I would drink the full eight glasses daily! On April 1, 2005 I poured the jug of water out. I had consumed approximately 80 - 2L Pepsi and not one 2L of water in a 3 month period!

H2O is my arch enemy. I have such a difficult time forcing myself to drink the stuff! I buy all the best waters and give it away. Just not a water freak! Love to play in it but hate to drink it!

I know I should drink more water. I try - I really do, but always seem to end up with a cup of coffee in front of me (as I have right now...). I've steered myself away from diet sodas to a good degree - maybe two or three a week. I LIKE water - sometimes it gets boring, tho!

Doctors orders! I do drink my 8 of 8 a day. Sometimes I go over this, but not usually. This is the only thing I drink now, on occasion if I am eating out I do have one glass of tea followed by water. This weekend i did have a few, ok too many, alcoholic drinks. Didn't go too overboard and I know my limit so the 5 minute drive back home was a sober and uneventful one.

I even keep a glass of ice water by the bed at night covered with a napkin incase I get thirsty at night.

have you tried the fruit flavored water like fruit 2 0 tastes much better than regular water

It's just like unsugared kool-aid. I can't stand that stuff, but I know people who hate water that do drink the flavored stuff.

I LOVE it, but techincally, it still has chemicals in it to sweeten it. I am trying my damnest to drink plain water. It is hard.

I don't, on the contrary i think i only drink like less than two. But in a study done on drinking eight aday says that it depends on weight and age or something like that to average out how much you need, and also if you're active or not. Too much water can actually give you water poisoning, yes water can poison you in excess.

That's pretty much true, missy. There are extremists no matter where you turn!

Water can actually make you feel drunk if you consume too much. Mental patients (some) must be monitored so they will not overuse water.

That, too can also be a problem. "Mental patients" are known to be extremists (in my line of work and dedication we like to refer to these folks as challenged, underprivileged or special - depends on where you're from) and can abuse something as simple as water. You truly need to drink a gallon or so of water an hour to "drown yourself", which can actually happen. The kidneys will fail, body cells CAN explode and the brain can almost virtually drown for lack of blood. That's quite simplistic of an explanation I'm afraid, but the lesson here is moderation, people! Water can be derived from a number of very good sources - fruits, vegetables and green tea drinks. Coffee (God bless me!) can be an inhibitor of fluid elimination, and should be taken in moderation. Caffeine will deter the body from natural processes and should be monitored for that reason and sometimes others. Sorry... I've gotten clinical here... many pardons.....

I knew this, but I am sure someone has never heard of drowning yourself by just drinking too much water. My entire diet and water intake is based on what my doctor of over 6 years has recommended. I think it was the best way to go. Many people just start taking diet pills and starving themselves or just taking pills and eating whatever they want hoping that the pill will cancel out the bad stuff they eat. I almost started a diet that could have been dangerous, but on the concern of a friend waited until I went to the doc to talk about what I need to do. I am happy that I went this route. I do not have to rely on diet pills or starving to help me lose weight and it isn't costing me an arm and a leg to do it. As long as I take my bcp's and my vitamins and stick to my diet I will be OK, and when I am done with it and lose what I want I don't have to worry about blowing up again. Once you stop the diet pills then you have nothing helping you keep it off while being healthy.
