Google celebrated the 66th anniversary of the Roswell UFO incident in New Mexico on Monday with an interactive doodle.

On July 3, a Baltimore County resident reported a UFO sighting from April in Windsor Mill to the Mutual UFO Network, an organization that investigates and collects reports of unidentified flying objects, with a Maryland chapter in Frederick.

"I turned on to Johnnycake As I approached the turn onto fairbrooks, huge white and gold star like light was hovering over the trees.I got on Security Blvd hovering then it went right over my car-saw a blue light under no sound or solid object," the resident wrote.

In this same month in 1947, the local paper in Roswell, NM, the Roswell Daily Record, reported a crashed flying saucer at the Roswell Army Air Field. The headline read, "RAAF Captures Flying Saucer On Ranch in Roswell Region."

"Army Maj. Jesse Marcel, an intelligence officer, reportedly recovered the 'disc' and flew it to headquarters. It was never seen again, and the air field issued a press release later stating that the saucer was actually a weather balloon," the Huffington Post states, citing the original article.

Conspiracy theories about the incident continue today, and Americans, including Baltimore County residents, continue to submit reports of UFO sightings to MUFON and the National UFO Reporting Center.
