Hey guys, so I need to write a cover letter for a job I'm interested in. However, I've never wrote one in my life before! All my other jobs have been through my CV only and I just don't know what to write on it or what should be included.
Can anyone give me any help/pointers? I would be EXTREMELY grateful!
Tried Googling it? I've never had to do one before but if this helps there's tons of examples and templates online. Obviously you shouldn't follow them to the T because employers probably get that all the time and know the general format so mix it up a bit and don't follow the order, just make sure you include everything on the examples
The image Lauren posted pretty much nails it on the head. Mine was pretty short and to the point; I briefly explained why I wanted the job and would be suitable for it.
The template Lauren has given is a very good example and works with many jobs.
However, check through specifications as some require specific details. I once applied for a job that required my cover letter to be pretty academic, it was a bit like a short essay request about my academic achievements, they even requested 400 words.
