Did/do you have pets at school? Some schools have them, some don't- and even then, it can be just one class in a school. What kind of pets have you had in classes, though?

I remember in 2nd grade we had a hermit crab. We each got to take it home over the weekend once, until it passed away [where we all cried]. In high school one year, my science teacher was obsessed with frogs and got four tadpoles: they slowly grew up, but one got an infection and sadly, they died in class one after the next- we had separate funerals for each of them at the school. Those frogs were special to everyone...

At one point, my classmate kept bringing his rat to school and it was basically taken as a school pet. It was a nice rat...Though it seemed to think I was a toilet...

Pets annoy me to a huge extent. Oh wait, you're not talking about the teacher's pet types... Haha, never mind on that rant then.

I've only ever had baby chicks to take care of (in a machine) from the moment they were eggs until they hatched. And this was in kindergarten, so I don't remember much of the experience. Yet, I do remember them hatching from their eggs, and that moment was inspiring and cute. Such cuddly, fluffy, little baby chicks they were...

Oooh, you just reminded me of the time we took care of mealworms and caterpillars [the caterpillars was earlier years, mealworms was like...middle school]. We raised the caterpillars as a class into butterflies. The mealworms, we had a LOT and took care of groups of them, generally in groups. Pretty sure I was the only one to find them cute.

I'm jealous you got baby chicks though. I would've loved that! >w< Though I adored our hermit crab as a kid...Sweetest introvert ever.

We had a few tanks in certain locations around the school but we never had a proper class pet. Just a few fish tanks and one had a turtle.

None of the classes i was in had pets, haven't ever seen any other classes either with one. :P Not sure if they do it that much over here. :P Well, that said, there is a goldfish in the reception of my boy's primary school if that counts lol. :P
