Casinos bring in slime and cause massive social problems. Also, they just seemly degrade a community. However, though, proponents claim they bring in a lot of tax revenue and jobs.
Now from my experience, in the USA, places down on luck, like Indian reservations and isolated economically unviable regions (Nevada) tend to attract casinos - out of desperation. Why couldn't those places find other ways out of economic oppression?
