How do you do it? Do you get an antenna? Does anyone just use the tuner that is supposedly built into your HDTV? Looking for advice on how easy it is to do this...how do you stream from your computer to the TV? I am out in the country but wondering IF I can still get a signal w/just the HDTV? TIA.

WE have basic cable through comcast, just the regular network tv plus some spanish channels that we never watch, it's $13.xx, plus internet, we paid $46.xx.

We want to get rid of the cable and install anthena (my neighbor has it, can get basic channels), but as usual it takes a long time for DH to act on anything. :-)

I would end up killing myself if we didn't have Disney Jr or Sprout channel.

The hour in the morning and the hour in the evening is wonderful. I LOVE the person/people who thought of these channels.

Ok. Bash away at me. But if it is during the TV time I won't care ;)

Don't feel bad nicklesmom..................I'm a total tv ****..............we all are. We have 4 peeps in the house and have 4 tv's. We all watch different things sometimes. And I don't care what anyone has to say about it.

Yeah, BUT you KNOW someone will come in this thread and blah, blah blah:giggles:

no cable tv or satellite here, just antenna. Not much time to watch tv these days, if I'm lucky I'll catch a few minutes of the news. When I do have more time, I take advantage of the videos/tv series at the library.

We have 2 people and 3 tvs. LOL

I seldom turn on the tv during the day, only watch TV in the evening, DH watches his sports or join me watching the series.

No cable or antenna here. Lex has amazon prime for videos & TV, plus youtube for videos. All on the Kindle Fire. Plus he has DVD/BluRay. It is way more than enough boob-tube time.

Affirmative action was designed to keep women and minorities in competition with each other, to distract us, while white dude inject aids into our chicken nuggets. That's a metaphor

Do you mean: "while white dudes........" or "while a white dude injects..........." :dunce:

No cable here. We have an antenna. DH and DS21 do Netflix. We've been without cable for 2 years. I don't miss it. The kids complained a lot at first, until I told them they can get cable and pay for it. Needless to say, the complaining stopped.
DD11 can't watch tv on school nights. She does homework, has basketball practice on Wednesdays (games Mondays and Fridays), has violin class Thursday evenings (has to practice for 20 minutes, 3 times a week).

nelliescloset.............can I have your dog? :bee:

This feels like deja vu. I've said "no", nicely, a few times. Clearly, you don't understand "nice talk" so.......Naw, beyotch! You can't have my Pepper Ann!
She wouldn't know what do without her bossy big sis, Hope (doberman). Pepper is not a bright dog, but she is soooooo sweet.

no cable here either, bought the roku a few years back, recently ds dad thought he would be that great dad and bought one ds an xbox 360 and the other the ps3,(I say this as he hasn't bought them anything in their entire childhood) so we have access to netflix and huluplus on all tvs. I can also stream from my computer, and we have the antenna/government box if we wanna watch whatever decides to come in that day. with the great game systems, they don't mind not having cable, plus they still can catch all their favorite shows (disney/nick) on netflix and hulu. they may not be the most recent, but when you haven't had cable in quite sometime, any of the shows will feel new to you!

It depends on if you actually want to watch over the air stuff. We have this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0025L6880/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new

DS watches sports on it all the time. I don't know what channel that is.

Other than that my kids mostly watch stuff on Netflix. I pretty much never watch TV.

thanks for posting...i might order one. as I have bought several different antennas, and it is always a hit or miss. (why i ended up getting the roku)
