I have never been bird watching but I do like to go to nature reserves for walks to get fresh air. I often see people bird watching in special areas that are quieter and meant for watchers to sit and wait and see lots of people.
Have you ever gone bird watching to see if you can see any special kinds of birds before or does it not really interest you? For me I think it's a hobby that can sometimes be quite boring if you don't end up seeing anything.
I have a small farm, I have a small orchard where I have grown varieties of trees including mangoes, lychees, pears, guava, jackfruits, etc. Whenever I visit my farmhouse I like to spend time in my orchard and watch birds. I also like visiting national parks for bird watching and nature walks.
This is why I love watching NatGeo Wild. Their documentaries on wildlife is incredible. It's my favorite channel. There are so many wildlife out there we might never see in real life till we die but thanks to NatGeo Wild, I have seen so many.
We live on 10 acres of woods. A variety of wildlife, birds, creatures are here. I got into birdwatching at our last house when we lived close to a river. In the 20 plus years I’ve been birdwatching, I’ve identified 98 birds. That may not seem like that many. Some were on trails but these were mostly in our own backyard! I walk a couple of times a day with our dog. I have local field guides for birds (as well as trees, flowers, butterflies). I’m always challenging myself to identify creatures here.
We have plenty of areas around where I live that we can go on walks to and there is a lot of nature around in those places but a lot of the areas are more homes for things like squirrels and such rather than birds. I once had a friend that took up bird watching though, he would always tell us about birds that he had seen and even show us photos that were amazing to see and very fascinating.
