This subject was brought up before and it sounds like there is interest in repeating the holiday share drive similar to last year. So, I've been thinking about scheduling options. Last year got pretty hectic with my personal holiday preparations and I'd like to wrap it all up a little earlier this year.

I'd prefer to have all donation requests sent to me via PM by Saturday 11/10. Please remember that all requests will remain anonymous. Then I can publish the list and we can have all donations in by 12/01 and the deliveries can go out the following weekend.

Last year the gifts were labled by the town they were going to. Sometimes the delivery went through two or three different people, so the end destination was not known by the driver. Most things were packaged pretty securely so the contents were not known either.

Please share any input you have to make improvements to the system. Don't be shy...last year was the first time we did this and at times we really flew by the seat of our pants! You can put your ideas here or send me a PM.

We will also be looking for drivers in the different areas of Chicagoland.

Last year we collected wrapping paper, gift bags, tape and etc which I thought was a good idea too.

Typical share requests were clothing, toys, books, household items, personal care items, non-perishable food and gift cards. For those of you making requests,...it is helpful for you to be specific. Please include the age(s) and sex of the child(ren) for identification purposes and let me know the general location you'd like to receive your gifts.

Thanks, Casagrande!

Let me know if you need help with anything. I can do pick ups/ drop offs in the south/west suburbs/NWI.

I will be in St. Louis Nov. 2-4 and can meet up with anyone from that area who has a donation. If we have any SW MI members, my DD goes to school in Muskegon & she can meet people up that way.

I know we discussed briefly before, but I would love to meet up while you are here. I cleaned house last week and have lots of childrens clothes, books and toys. We can chat more when you know what your plans are.

I can still do pickups Dundee, Elgin, Schaumburg, Hoffman Estates and in between! I can also still meet Toger when she comes in November as well!

Sounds good! I will be at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex a lot of the time. Is that near your house? DD has 5 games between Friday evening & Sunday morning, but I don't have the times beyond Friday. Friday morning/afternoon we'll be checking out Washington Univ. & Maryville Univ. and squeezing in the arch at some point. :giggles:

Thank you again for doing this
I can be a drop off sight--a mid point--or to homes in the Wheaton/West Chicago/Glen Ellyn area.
I too am available to go shopping if anyone wants to give money or a gift card--I am free to do the shopping for them!!
Thanks again
(If you want me to help with promotions I will be happy too)

Casagrande met me today so I could give her my donation. Thank you so much!!!! Come on Peeps...... The holidays will be here before you know it (For those celebrating Hannukah.... just 6 weeks away)!

I met up with poidoman (and her adorable kids!) yesterday! :) She gave me a TON of stuff! I will make a list of everything that's in my car & PM it to you today or tomorrow, Casa.

Thanks again, poido, for meeting me yesterday!
